1. Who was Dorothy Day and who did she advocate for?

- Dorothy Day is one of the most influential American human rights activists of the 20th century. She pursued independent life and advocated for the poor. She devoted herself to serving people and set up a newspaper to criticize the discrimination and unfairness of the poor of governmental system.

2.  What is the mission of the food pantry you have visited today? Write 200 words. 

- The food pantry’s mission is to provide food to the poor and the homeless, protecting their life. The families in the community which have some life difficulties can register in the food pantry with a electronic card and then they can get matching amount of food according to the number of people in the families once a month. The food there is various. There are potatoes, tomatoes, canned vegetable, canned meat, several kinds of cookies and bread. The bread there is not limited which means the poor people can get as much as bread they want. The food pantry provides food to 30 to 40 families per day which means a large amount of people get help of the food pantry. We are always getting from society since we have been borned and we should return to society as possible as we can. The food pantry is such a organization which devotes to giving back to society and helping people in need. 

  As volunteers, we help the workers there to package potatoes which will be handed out to the poor and put all kinds of food onto their shelves to make people get them easily. It is not only the contribution but also the gain of us.
